Pull off

Pulling your finger off a string to sound a note without picking it.

A pull off is the opposite of a hammer on. A pull off is achieved when you pull your finger off the string, while (usually) using another finger to fret a note behind the pulled-off note. The pull-off effect from your fretting hand causes the note to sound out without the use of a pick.
