How to video

Customizable layout options

Essentials

Adjust the height

Click and drag the divider between the video and notation to allocate more space to either section.

Full-screen mode

Expand the video and notation for the most space.

Pop-up menu

When you hover your cursor over the video, a pop-up menu appears with the following options:

  • Move video to the left: Move the video to the left for a side-by-side layout.

  • Flip video: Mirrors the instructor’s movements for left-handed guitarists.

  • Hide the video: Not recommended!

  • Adjust video quality: Change resolution for smoother playback.

Advanced layout options

In the settings menu, you'll find some additional options for customizing the layout. These include:

  • Zoom tool: Enlarge the notation

  • Horizontal notation: Displays the notation in a continuous left-to-right scroll — useful when you want to maximize video size.

  • Paged layout: Spilts the notation area into multiple pages.

Playback and navigation controls

Timeline scrubbing

Click and drag the progress bar to move through the lesson.

Playhead navigation

Click anywhere in the music to re-position the playhead.

Playback speed control

Slow down or speed up the lesson by adjusting the playback percentage.

Keyboard shortcuts (desktop)

There are also a range of keyboard shortcuts that you can view in the settings menu. The most useful of these include:

  • Spacebar: Play/pause the video.

  • Left/Right arrow keys: Shift the playhead by one note at a time, or one measure at a time.

  • Enter: Jump back to the start.

Practice features

Fretboard

Visualize notes on a virtual fretboard in real time. It can be flipped for left-handed players.

Looping

Click and drag over measures to repeat specific sections.

Focus mode

When looping, select focus mode to clear the rest of the score and concentrate solely on the selected section.

Metronome

Currently unavailable.

TAB vs. standard notation

  • The default view is TAB, as most guitarists are familiar with it.

  • You can switch to notation only or enable both TAB & notation via Settings.

Backing tracks for performance pieces

Some songs and performance pieces feature a backing track synced to the interactive notation.

Use the dropdown menu to switch to a recording of the guitar without your guitar part — select "No guitar".

  • If the performance features a live band, the backing track will appear as a video.

  • If the song uses a produced track, it will play as audio-only.

Advanced settings

The settings menu provides additional customization to fit your preferences. Explore the options and adjust them as needed.
