The fifth mode of the major scale is a great choice for playing over a dominant 7th chord. A G mixolydian scale is the same thing as a C major scale starting and ending on G.
โ
This scale includes all chord tones and extensions of G7.
Example: G mixolydian (G A B C D E F G)
โ
Listening: Miles Davis "All Blues"
