Getting started with Sign in with Apple

Using your Pickup Music account with Apple login

Updated over 3 months ago

Overview

Sign in with Apple (SIWA) lets you create and access your Pickup Music account on iOS and the web by using your Apple ID.

This article explains what happens when you choose Share My Email vs Hide My Email, and how that choice affects future logins and account management.

How to Sign in with Apple

  1. Select Sign in with Apple in the iOS app or on the web.

  2. Choose one of the email options:

    • Share my email (recommended): your Pickup Music account uses your personal Apple ID email.

    • Hide My Email: Apple creates a private relay (for example, [email protected]). That relay becomes the email connected your Pickup account and is the address you must use manage your account.

  3. Complete the sign up process.

What each choice means

Share My Email (recommended)

  • Your Pickup Music account uses your personal Apple ID email to manage your account.

  • Works seamlessly on iOS and the web.

  • If you choose to sign in by email instead of SIWA, you'll be prompted with "Continue with Apple" after you enter your email in the text field.

Hide My Email

  • Your Pickup Music account is created under Apple’s private relay.

  • Future logins and account management features like password resets require that same private relay.

  • If you choose to sign in by email instead of SIWA, you must enter the private relay in the text field.

  • You can switch later to your personal email as long as you didn't create a duplicate account with it. (see: Hide My Email: how to switch).

How to identify which email you shared

  • iOS: Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple > Pickup Music.

  • Mac: Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple > Pickup Music.

If you see a …@privaterelay.appleid.com address, you used Hide My Email. This is what is connected to your Pickup Music account.
